UC San Diego’s Entrepreneurs In Residence (EIRs) act as key connectors between campus innovation hubs - revealing new pathways for startups to launch, grow, and prosper.

Designed to accelerate new venture creation in San Diego, the EIR program, now in its fifth year, continues to build on foundational successes, bringing the diverse experiences of a new cohort of proven entrepreneurs, talented innovators, and insightful industry collaborators to help researchers, students and new startups navigate their pathway to success.

The EIR program represents a deep commitment to formative experiences that foster inclusive socialization to our campus culture of innovation. EIRs commonly find themselves guiding early-stage entrepreneurs and researchers through office hours or by participating in demo days, accelerator programs and showcase events. Furthermore, they provide connections in their professional network, serve as guest lecturers, and act as advocates for entrepreneurship at UC San Diego.

A CULTURE OF INNOVATION AS THE FABRIC THAT WRAPS THE ENTREPRENEURSHIP PIPELINE

Innovation and entrepreneurship at UC San Diego are strengthened by our capacity to value new perspectives, world views, and the ability to empathize with lived experiences different than our own. At OIC, we recognize the profound opportunity for the impact that role models, like EIRs, can have as they form the future of education, work, and life in between, as we nurture a robust innovation ecosystem at UC San Diego.
