Prof. Larry Frank’s primary area of expertise is in diffusion imaging, including pulse sequence development, image reconstruction, and data analysis. At the Center for Scientific Computation in Imaging, UCSD, his research interests are in developing and advancing MR computation and imaging. As Director of the Center, he provides leadership and expertise to a diverse and talented group of researchers, including physicists, radiologists, programmers, physiologist, marine biologist, psychologists, and others. The goal of the Center is to bridge the gap between image acquisition and the quantitative understanding of physical systems by facilitating the development of computational and visualization tools. This research will enable researchers to accurately and rapidly estimate, simulate, extract and visualize quantitative information about complex physical systems.

Inside Innovation is a presentation series featuring the latest innovative technologies developed by UC San Diego researchers. Get an inside look at what is happening in the labs, explore commercialization opportunities and inquire about licensing.

UC San Diego Office of Innovation and Commercialization – providing campus-wide innovation and entrepreneurism support, building a dynamic entrepreneurial community and promoting a vibrant regional ecosystem.
