About Sixth College Innovation
The Innovation component of Sixth College extends our unique approach to the integration of Culture Art and Technology through emerging and contemporary creative practices. Sixth College Innovation explores the expressive and cultural dimensions of new technologies through hands-on creative opportunities for students.
This Web site exhibits Sixth College students' creative academic digital expressions, as well as some of the Sixth College events that inspire and facilitate this type of work.
Core Sequence
Innovation within the Core Sequence CAT (Culture Art Technology) program brings new media into the CAT classroom and engages students in the creation of collaborative Web-based digital art projects that reflect on CAT course themes.
New Media Special Topics Courses
Many special topics Sixth College courses offer students opportunities to learn new media tools and participate in both individual and collaborative creative processes. Course topics change every quarter. Past topics have included Digital Projects, Art and Technology, New Media Design & Artmaking, and SPEC-FLIC: Speculative Cinema Narrative Performance Project. Certain special topics courses may fulfill the practicum requirement and/or the Sixth College artmaking requirement.
